DEFEND THE DOGS!

 STATEWIDE RALLY AGAINST PUPPY MILLS

July 9, 2008  Monument Circle Indianapolis, Indiana

 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

MEDIA ADVISORY

 Contact: Terri Scott

The general public is outraged when they learn the truth about puppy mills.

It's time to take action!

Indiana currently has no laws regulating the conditions of puppy mills.  As a result, our state has one of the highest numbers of puppy mills in the country.  Thousands of puppy mill dogs are forced to live their entire lives in tiny, wire cages with no exercise.  They are malnourished, dehydrated, living in extreme hot and cold conditions, and they get no medical care.

For the first time, animal rescue groups, animal rights groups and concerned citizens from across the state are gathering in one spot to let Indiana know that we will no longer sit idly by and allow puppy mill dogs to suffer, and sometimes die, from neglect and abuse.

Our guest speaker for this event is Jana Kohl, author of “A Rare Breed of Love: The True Story

of Baby and the Mission She Inspired to Help Dogs Everywhere.”  Jana is attracting national attention while speaking out against PUPPY MILLS on her summer book tour. It's exciting that she has chosen Indianapolis for a stop on the tour.  She has appeared on Good Morning America and in People Magazine.  To learn more about her tour and her book, visit www.ararebreedoflove.com

Please join animal lovers and humane people from all over the state as we peacefully gather on Monument Circle to draw attention to the puppy mill problem in the state of Indiana.   It’s time to put a stop to the horrors these animals endure at the hands of those only concerned with turning a profit.   NO DOGS PLEASE!
